Halo: Campaign Evolved to remake the original Halo campaign

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a full remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign, scheduled to release on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation on an undisclosed date in 2026. The announcement was made on Oct. 24, during the Halo World Championship. The upcoming title will be available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one of release. As of writing, the price for the title is not readily available on the official Xbox store page

According to the official blog post, the campaign will be fully rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with 4k visuals and brand-new story content, which includes three prequel campaigns set before the events of Combat Evolved. Players can wield nine additional weapons from the series, including the Energy Sword, Battle Rifle, and Needle Rifle.

In addition, players can hijack enemy vehicles and pilot the Covenant Wraith tank, as well as sprint. Halo: Campaign Evolved supports two-player local split-screen coop on console, and up to four players online with full cross-platform and progression functionality.

The original Halo: Combat Evolved was released over 20 years ago, launching on Xbox in 2001. In the game, an epic conflict occurs between humanity and a technologically superior alien alliance known as the Convenant. The game is the very first game in the main Halo series, and introduced the world to the iconic character: Master Chief.
