Monster Hunter Rise saw more sales than Wilds, according to Capcom’s Q2 financial results

Capcom’s Q2 for the FY2025/26 financial report indicated that Monster Hunter Wilds saw fewer sales than Monster Hunter Rise, a title that was first released in 2021, more than four years ago. Wilds sold 637,000 copies, while Rise sold 643,000 copies during the first half of the fiscal year. During Q2, Rise sold 254,000 copies, while Wilds sold only 160,000. 

It is worth noting that Monster Hunter Rise has more substantial discounted pricing than Wilds, but Wilds is a new release, having debuted just this year.

Both Monster Hunter titles are at the bottom of the sales ranking, with numerous Resident Evil titles sitting above them. As for Capcom’s top-selling game, Devil May Cry 5 sold 2.13 million copies, a sales figure bolstered by the launch of the hit Netflix animation, which adapted the series, accompanied thereafter with generous discounts on the entire Devil May Cry franchise. 

Monster Hunter Wilds saw strong sales during its first week of release, earning the achievement of the fastest selling game published by Capcom in history, but struggled with optimization on PC.

The title currently has “Mostly Negative” recent Steam reviews and “Mixed” overall reviews, with over 100,000 users having provided input. As for Monster Hunter Rise, the title has “Very Positive” overall reviews with over 70,00 users having provided input. Rise, as of writing, costs $9.99, while Wilds costs $48.99; both games are discounted until Nov. 11.
