Skate. Surpasses 2M Players on Launch Day, Will Keep on Expanding Servers

On Sept. 18, 2025, EA announced that skate. has reached over 2 million players in just a single day. The majority of the players seem to have come from consoles, as SteamDB only records around 92,000 players in its charts.

The X post has also touched on the flexing of EA servers in order to accommodate all players who want to play the game. Server issues have been one of the problems that players are pointing out in the replies to the X post.

One particular topic that’s been popping up in the Steam reviews was about Skate Culture and how it isn’t present in this iteration of the Skate series. Players are saying that skate culture is not in the game whatsoever and that there is no semblance of the street skating underground. “This is the corporate-washed vision of what skateboarding is,” one player said.

Skate. was released on Sept. 16, 2025. The game is available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Skate. is still in early access, and the developers have acknowledged this, saying that the game will continually evolve alongside its players. Skate.’s first season will start in October.
