Ball X Pit: All ball evolution recipes, effects, and achievements
This article covers all evolutions in Ball X Pit. You’ll find a complete list of two-ball, multi-ball, and passive item recipes, plain descriptions of each effect, and a few usage tips.
Evolution rules are included up front, so nothing feels random: you need the two ingredients at the 3rd level. Multi-ball achievement evolutions and passive item evolutions are covered in separate sections.

Basic ball evolution recipes and effects
Bleed ball evolutions
- Bleed + Brood Mother → Leech: attaches a leech to enemies that adds bleed stacks over time (great for ramping single-target damage against bosses).
- Bleed + Charm → Berserk: on-hit chance to enrage enemies (enraged units pulse AoE damage around themselves for a short time).
- Bleed + Dark → Sacrifice: applies bleed and a curse (cursed targets detonate after a few hits, dealing burst AoE damage).
- Bleed + Iron → Hemorrhage: stacks bleed, once a target’s bleed is high, consumes all stacks to deal a % of current HP (single-target burst, perfect for bosses).
- Bleed + Vampire → Vampire Lord: on-hit bleed stacking; consumes bleed stacks to heal you.
- Bleed + Poison → Virus: applies disease stacks that spread between nearby enemies (chain DoT).
Brood Mother ball evolutions
- Brood Mother + Bleed → Leech: attaches a leech to enemies that adds bleed stacks over time (great for ramping single-target damage against bosses).
- Brood Mother + Cell → Maggot: infests on-hit; on death, enemies explode into baby balls (snowballing clear).
- Brood Mother + Egg Sack → Spider Queen: chance to spawn an Egg Sack ball on hit (ball multiplication engine).
- Brood Mother + Vampire → Mosquito King: spawns homing mosquito balls on hit that deal damage, while kills with these balls heal 1 HP.
Burn ball evolutions
- Burn + Charm → Berserk: on-hit chance to enrage enemies (enraged units pulse AoE damage around themselves for a short time).
- Burn + Earthquake → Magma: spawns lava blobs at the bottom of the screen; upon colliding with an enemy, damaging AoE splash with burn DoT.
- Burn + Freeze → Frozen Flame: applies frostburn (freezing DoT that also amplifies damage taken).
- Burn + Iron → Bomb: explodes on hit for large AoE damage; 3 seconds cooldown.
- Burn + Light → Sun: on-hit, blinds enemies in a large zone and adds stacking burn DoT (one of the best balls for crowd control).
- Burn + Wind → Inferno: constant burn aura (damage and DoT application) around the ball (melts basic enemies).

Cell ball evolutions
- Cell + Brood Mother → Maggot: infests on-hit; on death, enemies explode into baby balls (snowballing clear).
- Cell + Earthquake → Overgrowth: stacks debuff on hit; at 3 stacks, detonates in a 3×3 zone, dealing heavy damage and applying the same debuff (good wave clear).
- Cell + Laser → Radiation Beam: emits a beam on hit and applies a stacking radiation debuff, which increases damage taken by enemies.
- Cell + Egg Sack → Voluptuous Egg Sack: on-hit splits into a few Egg Sack balls (ball multiplication engine).
- Cell + Poison → Virus: applies disease stacks that spread between nearby enemies (chain DoT).
Charm ball evolutions
- Charm + Bleed / Burn → Berserk: on-hit chance to enrage enemies (enraged units pulse AoE damage around themselves for a short time).

Dark ball evolutions
- Dark + Bleed → Sacrifice: applies bleed and a curse (cursed targets detonate after a few hits, dealing burst AoE damage).
- Dark + Charm → Incubus: on-hit chance to charm; charmed enemies curse nearby targets (synergy engine).
- Dark + Ghost → Phantom: on-hit curse that pops after five hits from any ball (burst damage).
- Dark + Light → Flicker: periodic small scree-wide damage tick (AoE, synergy mechanism for CC).
- Dark + Iron → Assassin: front-pierce + backstab bonus damage (single-target DPS).

Earthquake ball evolutions
- Earthquake + Burn → Magma: spawns lava blobs at the bottom of the screen; upon colliding with an enemy, damaging AoE splash with burn DoT.
- Earthquake + Cell → Overgrowth: stacks debuff on hit; at 3 stacks, detonates in a 3×3 zone, dealing heavy damage and applying the same debuff (good wave clear).
- Earthquake + Freeze → Glacier: spawns freezing spikes on the bottom of the screen, area damage on hit (AoE + CC).
- Earthquake + Poison → Swamp: spawns tar blobs at the bottom of the screen, on-hit damage with slow debuff and poison stacks (AoE DoT + CC).
- Earthquake + Wind → Sandstorm: piercing ball with storm aura that damages and blinds nearby enemies (AoE + CC).
Egg Sack ball evolutions
- Egg Sack + Brood Mother → Spider Queen: chance to spawn an Egg Sack ball on hit (ball multiplication engine).
- Egg Sack + Cell → Voluptuous Egg Sack: on-hit splits into a few Egg Sack balls (ball multiplication engine).
- Egg Sack + Iron → Shotgun: on wall hit, fires a few iron baby balls that shatter and deal damage on hitting enemies (burst damage).
- Egg Sack + Vampire → Mosquito Swarm: on-hit, explodes into homing mosquito balls that deal damage and lifesteal on kills.
Freeze ball evolutions
- Freeze + Ghost → Wraith: freezes anything it passes through briefly (crowd controls and synergies).
- Freeze + Lightning / Wind → Blizzard: freezes enemies in a radius for a moment and deals small area damage (AoE + CC).
- Freeze + Laser → Freeze Ray: emits a piercing ray on hit that can freeze (AoE + CC).
- Freeze + Burn → Frozen Flame: applies frostburn (freezing DoT that also amplifies damage taken).
- Freeze + Earthquake → Glacier: spawns freezing spikes on the bottom of the screen, area damage on hit (AoE + CC).

Ghost ball evolutions

- Ghost + Iron → Assassin: front-pierce + backstab bonus damage (single-target DPS).
- Ghost + Poison / Cell / Bleed → Virus: applies disease stacks that spread between nearby enemies (chain DoT).
- Ghost + Vampire → Soul Sucker: pass-through damaging ball with chance to lifesteal and lower enemy attack (AoE + sustain).
Iron ball evolutions
- Iron + Bleed → Hemorrhage: stacks bleed, once a target’s bleed is high, consumes all stacks to deal a % of current HP (single-target burst, perfect for bosses).
- Iron + Burn → Bomb: explodes on hit for large AoE damage; 3 seconds cooldown.
- Iron + Egg Sack → Shotgun: on wall hit, fires a few iron baby balls that shatter and deal damage on hitting enemies (burst damage).
- Iron + Ghost / Dark → Assassin: front-pierce + backstab bonus damage (single-target DPS).

Light ball evolutions
- Light + Burn → Sun: on-hit, blinds enemies in a large zone and adds stacking burn DoT (one of the best balls for crowd control).
- Light + Charm / Lightning → Lovestruck: inflicts a debuff that adds a chance for attacking enemies to heal you instead.

Multi-ball evolutionn recipes and effects (achievements)
- Bomb + Poison → Nuclear Bomb: a bigger explosion on hit that also applies radiation stacks to everyone in the blast.
- Sun + Dark → Black Hole: one-shot the first non-boss enemy it hits and self-destructs; has a somewhat long cooldown.
- Incubus + Succubus → Satan: high on-hit damage and wide-screen berserk debuff.
- Vampire Lord + Mosquito King + Spider Queen → Nosferatu: a lot of bonus balls and healing, most complicated recipe, OP.

Passive item evolution recipes and effects (achievements)
Baby Rattle + War Horn → Cornucopia: spawns extra baby balls each time any source creates babies, best with Brood Mother / Egg Sack or other ball multiplication engines to snowball entire screens.
Reacher’s Spear + Deadeye’s Amulet → Gracious Impaler: your critical hits gain a 5% instakill chance, perfect for crit-stacking builds + ball multiplication engines.
Breastplate + Wretched Onion → Odiferous Shell: touching enemies gives a 50% chance to kill them instantly on level 1, 75% on level 2, and 100% on level 3. A defensive item, building around it requires a lot of sustain mechanics, especially on NG+.
Ethereal Cloak + Ghostly Corset → Phantom Regalia: all balls phase through enemies to the back wall and deal significantly more damage when passing through. Great offensive item, both for clearing and for dealing with bosses, or triggering backstabs.
Everflowing Goblet + Vampiric Sword → Soul Reaver: heal 1 HP on every kill and overheal beyond max at 30-60% efficiency. Great sustain of end-game levels or underpowered characters.
Crown of Thorns + Spiked Collar → Tormentor’s Mask: enemies have a small chance to die immediately the first time they detect you. OK item, but its components have better synergies.
Fleet Feet + Radiant Feather → Wings of the Anointed: balls get +40% speed at level 1, while you get +20% move speed, and ignore ground hazards and slows from enemies. Great item for mushroom level and a few others.
Diamond + Emerald + Ruby + Sapphire Hilted Daggers → Deadeye’s Cross: massive crit-chance boost with +60% at level 1. Hardest item to complete, especially without the 5th slot unlocked, best offensive passive in the game, works in every build.
