Loulan: The Cursed Sand announced for PC and PlayStation 5

On Oct. 27, 2025, PlayStation’s official YouTube channel published a video showcasing a new game called Loulan: The Cursed Sand. It’s an action RPG set in the Western Regions of China along the ancient Silk Road.

The game’s description mentioned that it tells a “tragic love story of an exiled royal guard who returns to the fallen kingdom of Loulan amidst the chaos of war to find his beloved princess.” The developers added that players have a way to switch from bone form to sand form, which features two different “combat styles and story interactions.”

Loulan: The Cursed Sand features top-down gameplay and will have the player dealing with numerous enemies on their screen. Aside from the gameplay and story highlights that were shown in the trailer, there’s not much else information available regarding the game.

According to the press release published by PlayStation, Loulan: The Cursed Sand is part of the China Hero Project. It also mentioned that the team consists of “veteran gamers born in the ‘80s and ‘90s.” The developers did not mention when the game will be released, but the Steam and Epic Games pages, along with the PlayStation page, are already up.
