Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 goes free again on launch day of Battlefield 6 Season 1
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Zombie mode will be free to play during the period of Oct. 28 – Nov. 2, 2025, as was announced on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the franchise on Oct. 27, 2025.
The event starts the same day as Battlefield 6 rolls out Rogue Ops Season 1, along with a free-to-play battle royale mode titled RedSec.
It is the second time during the month when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hosts a free-to-play event, as during Oct. 9 – 16, 2025, players were able to try out not only multiplayer and Zombie mode, but also the campaign, which was playable through to the end. The event was dedicated to the launch of the sixth season of Black Ops 6 and Warzone on Oct. 9, 2025, which is the common practice for the title’s developer to attract players before the release of new content. However, it also coincided with an important date for the Battlefield franchise — the release day of Battlefield 6, Oct. 10, 2025.
As of the time of writing, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has a “Mixed” rating on Steam with 12,944 reviews, Call of Duty: Warzone has a “Mostly Negative” rating with 47,506 reviews, while Battlefield 6 has a “Mostly Positive” rating with 136,224 reviews.
