On Oct. 28, 2025, Square Enix published guidelines regarding what can be shared online about Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, and the developers are actually asking players not to stream the game until Nov. 29, 2025, which is a month after its release.

To be more precise, the developers are asking players to refrain from “live streaming or posting videos/images of gameplay after the second credit sequence.” Dragon Quest games are heavily story-driven, and Square Enix’s request not to have the game streamed is most likely to avoid spoiling people. To add to this, the developers are also asking those who will post content to mark it with spoiler warnings, especially those that lead to major plot developments.

Aside from the ones mentioned above, the other guidelines are pretty normal, such as not allowing the players to upload materials on adult sites and making sure that players are not violating any copyright rules.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is coming out on Oct. 30, 2025, for the PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players are able to wishlist the game on their preferred platform and even pre-purchase it for certain bonuses.
