Peak to introduce new biome called Roots in early November
In a brief X post published on Oct. 30, 2025, the developers of Peak announced that they would be adding a new biome on Nov. 5, 2025, called Roots. Not much is known about the biome besides the short video that accompanied the post.
In it, the characters seemed to be in a jungle-like environment, complete with hanging vines, tall trees and even platforms that resemble stairs that people use to climb tree houses. The video also showed one of the players getting dragged away. It’s currently unknown whether this will be an actual hazard when the biome is finally released.
The game just recently added a new biome called the Mesa in August of this year. The biome introduced a couple of hazards like tornadoes and even scorpions that will just sting players who are careless enough to be hit by them.
Peak was released on June 17, 2025, for the PC via Steam. It currently has a very positive review score on Steam, and is even boasting an all-time peak concurrent players of 170,759. As of the writing of this article, its daily players have never dipped below 10,000, and is still continuing the success it saw during its release.
