Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater receives online multiplayer mode Fox Hunt in new free update

An online multiplayer mode titled Fox Hunt for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially launched on Oct. 30, 2025, along with the release of Update 1.2.1.

The hide-and-seek-based online multiplayer mode allows up to 12 players in one session, tasking players to outlast each other in survival-style training missions.

As for Update 1.2.1, it implemented support for 21:9 aspect ratio displays, added the option to fix camera distance settings when playing in New Style, and introduced an in-game feature that allows players to view their system environment.

It also delivered some bug fixes, including a resolved issue where background music would not play during certain cutscenes, a fixed timing mismatch between user actions and background music ending, and a corrected issue that occasionally prevented specific actions by Raikov from triggering.

Developed and published by Konami, a remake of 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was released on Aug. 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S, featuring enhanced visuals and audio, refined survival elements, revamped controls and mechanics, and replacing the cumbersome menu-based camouflage system with a real-time selection feature, allowing players to change outfits on the fly without interrupting gameplay.

Set in 1964, the remake of the fifth main entry in the franchise and the first chronological game overall follows a FOX operative codenamed Naked Snake, who must rescue a prominent Soviet rocket scientist and sabotage the Soviet nuclear superweapon Shagohod, while clearing the United States of Soviet suspicion amid Cold War tensions and confronting his former mentor, The Boss, who has defected to their side.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater sold over 1 million copies since its release.

As of the time of writing, the title has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 8,103 reviews.
